SPAR is not only a food retailer, but also operates Shopping Centers: The SES Spar European Shopping Centers GmbH was established in 2007. In the SES, all real estate activities for the large-scale sales areas of the SPAR Austria Group are bundled as a strategic business sector.

The SPAR group member company has over 20 shopping centers in five countries. SES is not only responsible for the Austrian shopping centers, but also for development, establishment and operation of shopping centers in Italy, Slovenia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

Today, thanks to its innovative power, quality and sustained yield at an international level, SES numbers among the best in the industry.

In 2009, SES Spar European Shopping Centers realized external sales of 2.16 bn Euros. This is an increase of 2.1 percent versus the previous year.
