Setting signals for the future. CSR

Acting responsibly: for SPAR, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is more than just a slogan.

This is proven by numerous social, environmental and economic activities. At SPAR, CSR contributes towards creating values for a better society.

The ASPIAG countries have focused on healthy nutrition for years. In Slovenia, Hungary and the Czech Republic, SPAR has its own nutritionists and physicians who inform health-conscious customers about a positive life style. INTERSPAR hypermarkets consistently conduct health fairs and offer health checks. SPAR Hungary has published the free wellness and health magazine "Harmónia" since 2008.

SPAR Czech Republic has been cooperating with the major Czech aid organization, Tereza Maxova Foundation, for some years now. In 2008, a company-owned product line was created there under the name of "Teribear", exclusively available at SPAR and INTERSPAR.

Bio-Sackerl international: the biodegradable, CO2-neutral shopping bag made of potato starch has been available in all countries for some years now.

Environmental awareness is also very important when it comes to the construction of new markets and logistic centers. The distribution center in Üllö (Hungary), completed in 2008 and run without any fossil fuels, is a model example.

Not least due to short transport routes, the issues regionalism and locality are becoming increasingly important. SPAR Hungary has been supporting regional foods with the slogan "Our Hungary - our SPAR". SPAR Croatia participates in the campaign "Let's buy Croatian products", securing regional jobs.
