Today SPAR is represented in 48 countries worldwide. With that SPAR is the biggest voluntary retail chain in the world who operates under the same name and appears with a consistent logo. Under the „roof of the fir tree“ SPAR operates each of the 48 countries completely autonomous and independent from each other. In other words: the SPAR organisations in the 48 countries are each own companies which are not connected by corporate law.

The international SPAR headquarter has its registered office in Amsterdam and supports the individual SPAR countries with a small field of employees. The main tasks are the international strengthening of the brand name SPAR, the development of the worldwide common purchase as well as the advancement of the mutual exchange of experiences and the acquisition of new SPAR member countries.
